We made it! We are at our hotel in Guatemala City. Our flight was smooth and we watied a long time in customs. But our dutiful driver was still there waiting for us! He drove us directly here and we arrvied around 2. We were starving, b/c I guess US Airways really means it when they don't serve meals.... we also didin't have enough time in the layover to buy anything. But they cooked us up a great meal here. Although it wasn't typical Guatemalan, I guess we will get some soon enough. We are spending the whole day here at the hotel doing nothing. It is pouring down rain and it is also some sort of Holiday so everything is closed. We ahve to get up really early to go to Tikal, so getting to bed early is great.The hotel is a museum of Mayan artifacts and it is a nice place to do nothing. There are also turtles (tortugas) that live here too.my word of the day is "lluvia" which means rain. it is cooler here than the "burgh! tomorrow - vamos a Tikal!
Hey everyone,Thanks for visiting my Blog site. Thanks to my friend Manoj, I have become a little more technically savvy.So most of you know that Amie, my lil' sis, and I are going to study español in Antigua, Guatemala. We are leaving early Thursday morning the 30th, and coming back late July 17th. I am going to try to blog often while we are gone, even though I think we are only allowed 1 hour of internet access per week!
